Scripture:
John 15:4-5 “Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” (NIV)
Interpretation:
True obedience, the “fruit” of Christian life, flows from abiding in Christ.
We cannot produce genuine obedience apart from constant connection to Him.
Remaining in the Vine provides the spiritual nourishment necessary to obey.
Application:
How are you actively cultivating a deep and abiding relationship with Christ?
Action:
Spend dedicated time today in prayer and meditation on Christ’s presence.

Abiding in Christ yields true obedience.

Lord Jesus, I desire to abide in You. Help me to remain connected to the Vine so I may bear much fruit of obedience. Amen.
