Scripture:
Hebrews 11:8 “By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going.” (NIV)
Interpretation:
Obedience is intrinsically linked to faith; we obey because we believe God’s promises are true and His word is reliable.
Abraham’s obedience to an unknown destination was a testament to his unwavering faith in God’s promise.
When we truly believe God, our belief will naturally manifest in our actions and choices.
Application:
What promise of God are you struggling to believe, and how might that affect your obedience?
Action:
Choose to act in faith on one of God’s promises today.
Today Take-away:
Faith is the root of true obedience.
Short prayer:
Lord, I believe Your promises are true. Strengthen my faith so that I may obey You wholeheartedly. Amen.
